The beautiful 'New Vintage' Conn 88HNV is the first update to the 88H range in over 20 years. The 88H range has become synonymous with the classic 'orchestral' Trombone sound and in fact it's become the model we measure everything else up against.
Conn 88HNV Bb/F Trombone Overview
The Conn 88HNV Bb/F Trombone is a trombone combining classic vintage elements with modern, innovative features. The new valve wrap design has the same feel and balance of vintage models, but it has been updated to ensure an even tone across the entire range. This works in conjunction with the new one-piece valve lever to ensure a fantastic response, even when moving between registers.
Explore the full range of tonal colour the Conn 88HNV has to offer. After closely studying professional trombones, Conn-Selmer opted for a rose brass bell that's also very lightweight. This winning combination results in a full, warm tone with an added depth of sound and a fantastic projection. It's these tonal qualities that make the 88HNV ideal for solo playing and for playing in an orchestra or band.
Balanced and beautiful tone
Classic vintage with a modern twist. This is what characterises the 88HNV professional trombone overall and also applies more specifically to the bell - the section with the most influence over the overall sound. The bell has been modeled on Emory Remington's original 88H with its lightweight feel - taking a traditional rose brass bell and updating it for a modern instrument. The rose brass material gives the trombone a full, symphonic, resonant sound and a projection that's ideal for playing solo or in an orchestra. Control the sound you want to produce with a range of tonal colour.
Ultra fast response
Enjoy the excellent response of the newly designed valve section. Combining the standard 88H rotor with a new open F attachment wrap, the 88HNV moves seamlessly in and out of each register. This smooth transition gives the trombone a consistently instant and present response and unparalleled playability, leaving room for the player to experiment with musical expression, knowing their tone will be even and balanced throughout the full range of the instrument. To add to the ease of response, the 88HNV features an updated lever and rosewood thumb paddle for a comfortable feel to improve the valve action, allowing you to make quick manoeuvres.

A design with historical significance. The unique, delicate bell engraving on the Conn 88HNV acts as a homage to vintage trombones and modern design.
